A checkweigher reject conveyor receives the weight decision, tracks the failed pack to the reject point and removes it using a pusher, air blast, drop flap, retracting belt or diverter. The correct method depends on pack weight, stability, speed and spacing; an independent sensor can then verify that the pack entered the reject bin.
Application engineering
How does a checkweigher reject system work?
The checkweigher identifies a pack outside the permitted weight limits and sends a reject decision to the line controls. Product tracking links that decision to the physical pack as it travels to the reject point, so the correct item is removed without disturbing accepted production.
Oxford Vision Systems engineers the conveyor, reject mechanism, guarding, controls and reject containment as one system. For mixed products or close pack pitch, the timing window, belt speed and sensor positions are defined from real product behaviour rather than nominal throughput alone.
Single-bin systems can contain all failed packs. Where your process needs separate handling, a twin-reject or twin-bin arrangement can route underweight and overweight products independently. Integration can also be designed around combination metal detector and checkweigher equipment.

Key application considerations
- Underweight and overweight rejection
- Single or twin reject destinations
- Air blast, pusher, flap or retracting belt
- Independent reject confirmation
- Lockable and full-bin monitored options
- New-line or retrofit integration
