Application engineering
Reliable rejection begins with the product.
Retracting-belt rejects create a temporary gap between conveyor sections, allowing the failed product to transfer into a lower reject path while accepted production continues along the normal route. Because the product is not struck by a pusher, this method can provide gentler handling for unstable or delicate packs.
Applications can include soft packs, open trays, high-value products and formats whose shape makes side-ejection unreliable. The retract distance, belt acceleration, transfer geometry and timing sequence are matched to the product range and production speed.

Engineered around product stability and line dynamics
A retracting conveyor introduces moving geometry into the line, so mechanical guarding, safe access and the response to a drive or position fault are important parts of the design. Position sensing confirms that the belt has completed each movement and returned ready for accepted product.
Oxford Vision Systems can combine the mechanism with inspection tracking, reject verification and secure collection. Product trials are recommended where the pack is deformable, open, unusually shaped or sensitive to acceleration.

- Unstable or open products
- High-value packs
- Products unsuitable for impact
